Nadine Archibald

Born and educated in London England Nadine took up art at her South London high school. At thirteen she won a local art school prize with a self-portrait which was hung in the local town council chambers.

Further studies at school meant she was destined for a science career and her art career was suspended whilst she pursued her career of podiatry. Moving to Australia early in her career and life she was able to further her artistic endeavors and joined a strong ethical and vibrant artistic group STUDIO 8 based in Brisbane Queensland. This encouraged her to continue her artwork and was encouraged and learnt from local Queensland artist Lola Mcfarlane.

Nadine travels extensively and is constantly sketching her surroundings. This forms the ideas for her artwork. She believes that the "thumb nail" sketches that represent shape form and atmosphere in her sketches allows her to produce work that is truly representative of the ambiance of the places she has visited. This allows the viewer to be part of the travel experience transporting them to other parts of the world.
